The Inspiration
"I sat and wove my threads of escapism. Utilising a fierce lilac material, I bodied the mannequin with creation. I allowed my hands to work free, and unfasten my trembling inhibitions. I became bored of the inadequacy narrative. The dressmaking scissors seamlessly sliced my hesitance, and full entrenchment eventuated. 4 hours, 5 hours, 8, more? I had let go. Of the ability to trace my inconsistencies and work with rhythm. The lilac dress of that Tuesday afternoon turned Wednesday morning foresaw my renewed self. 28 years of self war had ultimately folded into a sewn and hemmed silk."
