Our Lemon Tree omits zests of Lime, Petitgrain and Cardamom to create a zestful infusion. Middle notes include Green Tea and Coriander to enable earthy perfumes. White Musk, Cedar and Rose sit amoung the garden bed that runs paralell, and offers a hint of floral savour.
My bedroom window framed the flourish and fall of the lemon tree, seasonally skewed. With equal parts light and rainfall, she grew greenery and yellow hues. Presented with clouds and winter chill, she assumed stagnation. Watching her change was like a mirror. The external energy of the day dictated her appraisal, am I to grow or shrivel? Thrive or shy away from the darkness? Yet, irrespectve of her environment, some days would serve undisturbed bloom. What I had learnt from her glossy leaves and tainted ones alike, is that both hold equal merit. One supported the growth of yesterday, the other, the growth of today.
